Looking for a five-letter word where the third letter is P?
That is much harder than "what is a word starting with the letter P?"
And there is a reason for it: "Serial-position effect is the tendency to recall the first and last items in a series best, and the middle items worst."
Once in a while, I draw a complete blank while playing Wordle.
Typically I am midway and I can't think of any words that have the letters I have found. Or worse, words that don't have a specific letter.
And then I need a hint.
I made this app so that it does not blurt out the list of words.
That is particularly helpful if there is just one word that fits the clues. Then you don't want to give away the game.
But it helps if there are a few words - upto 20 - that you can take a peek at.
And just to keep things interesting, this app does not filter out words where a "correct" letter is in the wrong place.
Hope this makes Wordle more enjoyable without making it too easy!
